After many years, our BHS claim for two new bridleways over Upton Heath have just had orders made by County Council, from Beacon Road, BR16, South to the old railway line, now BR43 (an earlier BHS claim). The other one runs from the line South-East to join Pony Drive which leads on to Roman Road BR1. If no objections are made by 28th May, these should soon be opened and waymarked. Tara Quinn has submitted a claim for a BR from the gate at the West end of Arrowsmith Road up to the main BR track by the tip. She tells me that many of you have had trouble riding through gates onto Canford Heath, because long-horned cattle graze the heath and gather by the gates – please contact Gerry Clarke (c/o Urban Heath Partnership) on 01202 534687 if you have problems.
